You will have no problem going 10k with those filters. I go almost that on my P1s...

Just me, but if the vehicle your looking to run 10k with any oil in is the 08 F-150 listed in your sig, I'd go 6k with that combo get an analysis and move upward from there. You'r truck is big bucks I wouldn't take a chance without knowing whats going on as you creep up with the OCI.

Or, just run MC and MC filter and change it every 5k. That combo works well for a lot of the F-150's.

The M1 filter would be fine for 10k, as would a Fram Ultra for a bit less money, but I wouldn't take the oil to 10k unless a UOA first indicated it looked doable.

I do 7-7.5K with a motorcraft filter with my 5.4 F-150, I do not know why a supposed "better" filter could not be used for 2-3K more?

When I could, I used to run Bosch Distance+ and leave the filter in there for about 10,000 miles and never had a worry.

I am using MC filters in both Fords with M1 oil and 10K OCIs. Been doing that for 34 years. I have a friend that does 15+K with M1 5-30EP in his Ford 3.8 with M1 filters with no problem. We cut one apart and it looked fine. 160K on the engine. Your good.

Regualr MC filter for my fords 820S is good for 15k per Mobil. So, the specially designed extended drain filter should last double.
A friend just decommissioned his 1989 Buick Riviera with nearly 600k miles. He is a business owner who drives across the country because he enjoys it. His installations are all over the world. When asked about maintenance, he said he used M1 oil and the 'regular' oil filter for about 11k miles per drain period. No UOA was ever done, sometimes he would forget about the oil change and miss a few thousand miles, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Either the K&N or the M1 should be fine for more than 10K.
Assuming that your engine is clean and healthy, the M1 oil is probably okay for 10K as well, although how you use the truck would be a factor.
I see that Tig weighed in to this thread, and he has used M1 on 10K drains for decades with good results.
I might recommend a UOA after a 10K run, just to see how the oil has held up, but if your use of the truck doesn't involve a lot of short trips, 10K should be doable.
I wouldn't do it, but then I don't put enough miles on any one car to get any real benefit from long OCIs.

Correction...tig1.....said he is using MC filters in both Ford's....not M-1 filters....for his 10k OCI's. But he uses M-1 oil.

Nothing to correct.
I didn't say that Tig was using M1 filters, only M1 oil.
I may have worded my post in a way that lead to misunderstanding.

I wish we could hear more of his story. 15-20 years ago the owner or CEO of a major shoe company in the US would not fly. Instead he drove his MB everywhere for business. Seemed like he had 600-700K on the Benz. One of the major auto mags wrote a story on him and also test drove his car for several miles to see how it compared to a new MB. Very interesting story.

Unless your engine is a recovering sludger or is in the process of self-destructing, either of those filters will laugh at 10K. I chopped a Pure One at 10K and it was in as-new mechanical shape. (Granted, it was run on a sedately driven Accord.) Your candidate filters are, if anything, even more solidly built.
