Leverage using iIt.webp

A friend of mine had her radiator replaced at a Toyota dealership a few years ago. They used zip ties to hold the electric fan to the rad, when the car went in the fan was bolted on. I assume they lost the bolts, so just said whatever, and zip tied it on. To this day I tease her about it.
It wasn't cheap taking it to the Toyota dealer instead of and independent shop. When asked why, she told me for the genuine toyota parts and toyota trained mechanics.
Then they zip tied the fan onto it.
When I saw it all i could do was laugh.

I've got to admire the ingenuity that went into that.

I could see doing a fix like this, if it was temporary, until a trip to the auto parts store to get a battery post clamp. But judging from the appearance, it looks like it has been like that for some time.

Mola’, I was all set to type Will Rogers’ reply to “using leverage” for finance - “He who borrows what isn’t hiz’n, pays it back, or goes to prison”.
Well your picture sure put that into perspective.
Take care.

Why use pliers when you could just zip tie the cable straight to the post?

I've done stuff like this before. My aunt's minivan still has pennies stuffed in the battery clamps because they wouldn't tighten down any farther
