How many of us are using conventional oil only now? Me: 5w30 Valvoline , 2005 Buick LaSabre 80k miles on the 3800 engine.

I'm using Chevron 5w30 from Costco.

I am: my 06 fit and wifey's 04 camry are on Pennzoil conventional.
Her's now has over 175kmiles on odo..no oil consumption, passes annual emissions.
Mine is around 69k...

Valvoline conventional 5w-20 in the Tacoma Right now. Several straight fills of dino are in the Tacoma's future. I am using my stash by age.
The only synthetic that seemed to make a difference was Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy. The truck never "felt" happier. But it's all gone now,

I have been an Amsoil dealer since 1994 and learned a lot about synthetic technology from their dealer literature. I also learned important information from this forum.
Currently running conventional in my Mercedes diesel and am not planning to go synthetic.
I use Walmart SuperTech ATF Dex3/mercon ($11.50 gal) in all my ATF applications. Toyots P/S, GM 4L60E, Mercedes A/T 722.3
I like the idea of synthetic but am unsure if it is a good value as synthetics have been cheapened by using low grade base stock and marginal additive packages, Buyer Beware. There is a reason Amsoil is going away from their 25K formula and adding OE products. Check into it if you want to know more about it.

I use whatever I can buy for less when it was on sale/clearance and with/without rebate. If synthetic is less than $2-3/qt, I see no reason to use dino at regular price of $3-4/qt.
I run mostly conventional, most of the time. I have a lot of Peak 10w40 in the garage. I mixed it with some Synthetic because temps here have been getting into the single digits as daytime highs frequently this winter.
My other vehicle got our bulk oil (yes bulk is as good as bottles), Gulfpride 5w30, which is only available as a blend. It is not a 50/50 though, closer to 30/70.

Until I bought the Shelby (synthetic mandated by manufacturer) I have always used conventional.

I'm a dino user, but then I also change my oil too frequently. I once read some oil refiner literature that described the crankcase as the "garbage pit"(?) of the motor, where the nasty stuff from combustion ends up. OK, that's a bit of marketing blather. But, there is some truth to it. Modern engines are tighter than way back, but still...
I still refuse to pay more than $2 a qt! Im a firm believer that my cars will get sold or scrapped from an accident before the drivetrain wears out using quality conventional oil.
I did try synthetic in my ford and it drank it like a wino in a box car. I went back to conventional in it just to cut comsumption.
