User experiences of using HPL ATF Green in place of Honda DW1?

Just curious who might have used the HPL ATF Green in place of Honda OEM DW1 in a traditional Honda 5 speed automatic transmission (2014 K24 to be exact).

I assume a much longer extended drain interval is part of the allure here and similar to their passenger car oil that can go absurd lengths (in certain situations and driving patters, of course).

I'm using it in my 2014 ody currently. Second time drain and fill (for volume estimations). Zero issues so far. But given these transmissions behavior with DW-1 and longer drain intervals, I look at it more of a hedge against issues vs JUST longer use.

My thinking too......

What are these absurd lengths? ....a general range from light-duty applications in temperate climates to heavy-duty ones in searing heat?
There's a member here that drives a late model Corolla and went over 30K miles on their standard passenger car oil with still acceptable UOAs; he is a delivery driver if memory serves.

$16/quart for HPL while DW-1 is less. What's the appeal ? I don't see where HPL promotes extended intervals with their ATF.

Right. Thats what I’m trying to determine in this thread - is there an objective reason to switch from DW1?

supposedly DW-1 shears easily and cooks fast
Supposedly ? I don't recall seeing an analysis of used ATF that shows that, in fact, Blackstone (and probably others) say there's little value in analyzing used ATF.

just sharing what i’ve read in my time on honda forms and here. i use HPL across the fleet and when the woman’s car is up for an ATF change again it will get HPL ATF green aswell. continue to use DW-1 if you’d like. i’m normally a proponent on using certified ATF but based on how ATF Blue fixed my built 4l80e and green made my 400k mile accord shift right i’m a believer in the HPL ATF.

If there's really a concern with DW-1, I'm open to learning more. I've just never read it myself so it's new to me. I'll never try and talk someone out of using what they choose to use, but if you ask my opinion, at least with Hondas, I'll always suggest DW-1.

I did one D&F with HPL Blue in my daughter's '08 CRV. It had multiple DW-1 (and Z1) over the years. I went with Blue as it was a bit thicker viscosity more to what the Z1 was originally after emails with HPL. There was no issues in hers prior with using DW-1 or Maxlife but again changed regularly. Fluid was always nice and red even when doing the D&F's.

Contrast that to the DW-1 in my '19 Pilot which I have pics posted I think and UOA. With excessive fluid changes, factory cooler added, the stuff is burnt up, tranny shedding metals and clutch stuff. Dealer acknowledged the issue and concerns but no CEL = no fix. My mindset for that vehicle now changed. Not towing above 3500 lbs, cooler removed, VCM active, DW-1 at 30k, dealer doing it for documentation, if not dead and replaced by end of 8/120 HondaCare then it will probably get traded in.
