I need a dull, old, used circular saw blade to use as a ground plane for a ham radio installation on a vehicle. If anyone has one they could send me I'd be very grateful. Thanks for reading this...

I am looking for at least 6" diameter. I'd take any scrap of bare, unpainted metal someone could donate to my cause, I can even PayPal a couple dollars for shipping if needed...thanks!

What size? Wouldn't a softer, less "sharp" piece of metal be a better choice?

Maybe it's supposed to be a multifunctional appliance. I'd be worried had he also asked about an old porcelain bathtub and a giant sack of lye.

That's a joke, kiddos.

How about a paint can lid? Round, about the right size, nice rolled edges give the thin metal some stiffness. I bet you could get a clean one at a paint / home improvement store.

I was just going to say the same thing. you can buy a plain steel 7 1/4" circular saw blade for about 5 bucks. I know absolutely nothing about the radio part of it though.

I have a circular saw blade I could send you, but it isn't very dull or too terribly old.

If it'll work for you, just send me a PM with your address and I'll send it out to you. Shipping shouldn't cost too much - maybe $5 tops, if that?

Yes this is for a 70cm ground plane, installing underneath a 1/4 wave NMO mount antenna on a fiberglass body.

I have started to work the phones with local metal shops and already have several leads, I am heading out tomorrow to probably pick something up. Thanks for the ideas!
