I have some VSOT I bought back 2005-06. Back says 1999. Adding it to my oil every 3,000 mile oil changes. Tonight at advance,I saw rislone makes an oil additive ,part number 4102. It's supposed too clean pistons, rings ECT. Wanna try it for fun .but thought if it's a cleaner, desludger, can I use it with VSOT, or will it interfere wash away the VSOT? So I'm not wasting it.
The rislone 4102, I have 1459 miles till 3000 miles. Can I add it now or use it full 3000 miles?

VSOT is Valvoline Synthetic Oil Treatment! I would do the Rislone at your next OCI, let us know if you like the product.

I have not used it for an entire oil change but I have used it for 500–1K at the end of an oil change interval. It definitely made the engine quieter. I’m not sure what it did for sludge and varnish. The oil was already dark.

Think the rislone would wash away, interfere vsot?
That is a very good Question, but I will tell you this, Valvoline Restore and Protect would not do anything to upset VSOT!
Seriously, you can always call Rislone and Valvoline and see what they say.

Bought it last night . Instructions said too add too 4-6 quart sump. Mine 4.5-4.7. rislone was 16.9 oz .
Looked oil dipstick tonight after car sat 9 hours. Oil looked high on dipstick ...
Should I have drained 16.9 ozs out the oil pan first before adding rislone?

Seriously lol.should I drain 17 ozs out oil pan,?or does this rislone merge with existing oil?
It’s a liquid so it’s going to raise the level a little bit. Could be part of the reason why they made it a concentrate, so it will fit if you’re mostly full.

Did you not change the oil/filter first?

But. .would it interfere with vsot?
I doubt if Rislone would interfere. I've used Rislone as the only additive and have mixed it into other additives. You could use it every other oil change, and alternate with the Valvoline VSOT. I have 310,000 on a Ford V6, which still runs fine. I use 1/2 bottle of Rislone every other oil change. With the high quality oil I use, I only need slightly more cleaning and penetrating that Rislone provides.
FYI, the bottle of Rislone has an 800 number on it. Call them and ask. They seem to be very knowledgeable.

I wouldn't use both at the same time. Save it for next OCI.

I am about to change oil on the Kia. Gonna' use four quarts HPL (2+2) and 16oz Rislone Concentrated Treatment bottle, for a sump that holds 4.3 quarts.

I use two 500ml bottles (1 litre) in my Barra engine every oil change.

The Rislone product is "miscible" or mixable with motor oil. Why would you make an additive that would not be miscible in all base oils?? I don't think your oil level being a bit high will hurt anything but just change the filter if you are worried.

Why would you add a low quality oil thickener unless you had a smoker on its last legs?

If you need to increase oil viscsosity go to a higher grade engine oil with a higher viscosity.

I would suggest quit using the VSOT gunk and use the HPL EC if you know your engine has sludge.
