USA Made Cooking Pans

I'm looking for a set of cooking pans that are made in USA. Any suggestions?

We have All Clad pans, have had them for almost 20 years and they’re like new. We also have some smaller USA made revere ware pots that are useful for certain things.
I need to replace our cookware and am in the same market. Good to know about All Clad. Also looking at Heritage Steel.

We have never had stainless cook ware, we have had non- stick teflon type pans. Currently Calphalon.

How is cooking different on stainless verses non stick coated pans ? Are stainless pans easy to clean?

We are looking at the Heritage Steel Titanium series. USA made.

Are the ALL Clad pans you have stainless or non stick ? I see they sell both.

Cooking on stainless or cast iron is all I’ve ever known. My parents have revere stainless, and they’re had a few enameled pieces. We have all clad and cast iron, and a le cruset enameled Dutch oven type pot/roasting thing. Sure we have always had a nonstick pan for a quick egg, but for rid of any teflon stuff a decade ago or more when pfas issues were only for bird people and conspiracy theorists.

You cook on it, you clean it, repeat. Nothing to it.

Revere hasn't been made in the US in decades though. I do remember getting some when there was a special at a local supermarket, where one got points and then could buy an "item of the week" for a special price. I think they came with a 25 year warranty, although I'm not sure how good the replacements would be. I gave them to my parents and they're still using some pots that are more than 30 years old. The impressive thing is that the rivets and welds holding the handle to the pot are still perfect and the handle material hasn't turned brittle. The bottom is pretty nasty looking though, but they're still perfectly functional pots.

There aren't too many left making pots in the US unless it's some real specialty stuff. I think maybe Calphalon, but then only aluminum. I think there's a lot of cast iron still made in the US. Maybe a few larger companies, but also a lot of small boutique manufacturers.

Cooking with stainless steel is definitely more forgiving than non-stick cookware because you don’t care about scratching the coating (since there isn’t one) or overheating it and letting off fumes. It’s like cooking with cast iron in some ways but more forgiving as you don’t need to avoid acidic dishes like tomato sauce that could mess up the seasoning.

It’s not as non-stick as teflon or seasoned cast iron but it’s decent if you get it good and hot and don’t skimp on cooking oil / ghee / butter etc. You can be as rough cleaning it as you need. Wire wool is your friend if you really burn something. Ask me know I know.

Lastly, a wipe with Barkeepers Friend will keep it mirror finished and help avoid sticking the next time you use it. You can put it in the dishwasher but different dishwasher detergents might discolor it so I usually don’t.

Has anyone used/owns a C Palmer waffle maker iron???... If so, how well and reliable is this unit?

Thank you

To Jason2007: A big FYI. Get on All-Clad's email list. They send periodic specials involving EVER SO SLIGHTLY marred seconds. Very frequently, it's only the box which is scraped or torn.

Absolutely blockbuster values.

An aunt, who was raised as frugally and basically as anyone, had a catering business and she wouldn't have anything else.
I just wish I had begun cooking when she passed away. I missed THE BEST sell-off of all time.
