Who said that gov. knows the best? I do not think that these recommendations are coming from appointed politicians, but scientists that are working on this for decades.
Sometimes you have EPA administration that is snubbed by the White House, sometimes not. I would rather have scientists making decisions then K Street in Washington DC. You think about free market? 600,000 lobbyists in DC and you are talking about free market? Give me a break man! Less FOX News and more other sources of information would not hurt!

So you're saying that lobbyists control DC but the DC folks being controlled hire completely independent free thinkers? You make zero sense. I love the personal attacks when you can't address the issues. I'm still waiting on someone to answer who predicted ULSD was going to go up be $.60+ over LSD since someone here keep saying with 100% certainty that low sulfer gas is going to be less than a dime more, at most. Was it SCOTUS? They were brought up for some reason when discussing engine tech maybe they're experts on guessing future commodity market conditions as well.

Typically ignorant comment. No different than me defaming you for your sources of info, which certainly seem to reflect the current dogma from the amateurs who currently run our country.

Ever wonder why there are so many extremely highly rated news outlets on the "other" side of the aisle? Check out the numbers for a real surprise.

Besides the fact that many times the ONLY station covering relevant topics is Fox, the regular media is still fawning and censors out the stuff they don't like.

But the true sadness comes from the polarization that causes you to attack personally when the argument feels a bit weak. There was a time when people could disagree, and it didn't mean you had to hate them...

Right on. Fox News is pretty poisonous and there are plenty of people who have been hoodwinked by it.

There are two sides to the debate and I always seek that out. Some parts of the media have put themselves into ideological positions where they are incapable of presenting anything in an unbiased way. That's on both the left and right. But Fox is a special breed. John Stewart, who can equally criticize the left, has good insights on this.

In any case, the media as a whole is a joke but people are the enablers of that, just as people are enablers of politicians and congress.

Also, I would say that politicians are worse than lobbyists and most corporations. Most corporations try to get influence because they would be at a disadvantage if they didn't. The politicians are the ones who are in a position to receive donations. The lobbyists exist as part of the system that politicians have allowed to dominate.
