Just returned home from a week in the hospital with my Dad. They took off part of his foot and he did survive surgery, however, they didn't get it all and are going to have to cut more. The doctors told us now his bones are infected and they are treating him with massive antibiotics via a "pic." His mind is gone and it's like he's living back in the 1940's, (he talks to people who aren't there and is "at work" talking to people he used to work with). It seems as though it's simply a matter of time before the Good Lord calls him home.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and please continue to keep him, my mother and my family in your prayers.

Sorry to hear, my dad had surgery back in Sept, he was 86. When he was on the heavy duty painkillers he was acting crazy, but once off them and just on Tylenol or whatever, he went back to normal. I've spoken to medical professionals, the elderly often have very strong changes/reactions to narcotics.

Hang in there...

Sorry to hear this. If I could have the last few months with my Dad again, I'd spend even more time with him. Just be with him, time is precious.

Sorry to hear this. I lost my grandfather last May. At the end he was also talking about and to people that had been gone for 30 years.

I am so sorry. I know how hard it is on you and others when a parent gets sick like that. I pray for peace for your family.
