I had a problem with my PSF, so that's why I did this UOA. Performed by Dyson Analysis.

Ok this is the first PS Pump UOA I have seen. It did not seem that out bad other then the high copper.Does he think that a busching is wearing out prematurely? What was the verdict? I saw some small traces of black build up on my dipstick! I am thinking that some Redline ATF is needed before winter!

Terry has requested that his comments not be posted. Well unless Terry himself chimes in, I'd rather not divulge his 'secrets'.

In a nutshell, Im not really worried now, even when the copper looks frightful

. The old PSF has been flushed and now filled with Castrol Dexron III ATF.

Why dont you send in your PS Fluid for a comparison?

Interesting! For the last few years, SAAB has been using a somewhat exotic, synthetic power steering fluid known as Pentosin CHF11S.

A new can of CHF11S has Porsche/Audi and BMW part numbers on it, but the BMWs I've seen use ATF.

I never thought to analyze my power steering fluid, but now I might just have to send some in for a VOA. This place is really making me an oil nut!

suoraturbo, a bit of symantics but any fluid he puts into the powersteering system becomes by defualt powersteering fluid. Example if he said he changed his transmission fluid or ATF you would not make the conection to powersteering system with out reading text. I hope this makes sense. Kind of like transmission fluid is "transmission" fluid gear lube of ISO hydralic type fluid like ATF? Well it could be either. You are right thought that few if any Toyota use anything other then Dex ATF in the power steering system!!!!

I was going to post a parts assembly drawing of the pump for everyone but I can not figure it out. I tried copying it from power point and from paint. I also tried it from my email, photo editor! I just can not seem to make it work with this sites UBB code! If it can not be cut and pasted in then it will not be put up. I do not have url I can load it too!

Silicon way high too but that copper? whew, I didn't know they could get that high. OXI is too high too!

How many miles are you going to wait before you test again?
