TL-DR =Save your money.

So this device is pretty decent spec wise and is claimed to be compatible with all sorts of unifi gear.
However compatible means "provides 120v of power to"

not will integrate and powerdown (or restart) devices such as the UDM PRO

It will "gracefully" shutdown the UNVR and UNAS

I know its on me but when I read compatible with.. I expected integrations since it has an ethernet management interface.
Such as auto shutdown then power off after 10min without power (user settable) of the listed devices or at least the UDM PRO.. I doubt my WAPS or switches would care much.

Here is to hoping this gets the update/upgraded treatment that unifi protect app/environment got recently.

They did change some of the wording to this... 🥴 🥴 🥴

I guess my next adventure is seeing how hard it is to get NUT client somewhere in my LAN that can power down devices after polling the battery level of the unifi 2U UPS.

For some reason this feels like unifi kicking me in the crotch...

Shipping+ tax puts this UPS over the $350 mark call me .... unimpressed..

I like Unifi but have APC UPS that are rack mount and network connected. And weigh a ton.

I’ve seen that Amazon now sells sine wave inverters with built in chargers. Most of these devices can be configured to run as the guts of a UPS, and you choose your batteries. My cyber power 1500Va has many hours of runtime as configured with 2 wheelchair batteries supplying it after the own batteries aged out. Next go-round, I’ll likely go the inverter/charger route with a couple of lithium batts at 24v.

UPDATE: with the new network 10.xx.xx version
unifi has added pairing with more devices.
Including my UNAS 2 and UDM Pro.
Should have had this at release or at least announced it was coming.
but at least it is added now... very basic
I'd expect them to expand options in the future
(ie runtime option for how long on battery before shutting down etc)

I will likely unpair the UDM pro as the only option currently is terrible..
for a router.
to power off after 10s without power.. but my battery backup
should last nearly 30min... I'd like it to wait at least 5min before
shutting down or perhaps shutdown when battery reaches 50%.
etc. etc.
