$200 engine that will eventually find its way into my old white van.

It's really not that bad. I don't think I'd bother to clean any -
I've seen much, much worse last for decades later.

Looks to have about 130,000 miles on it.

Thanks for posting the pics. My 2000 Ram in signature with the 5.2L just rolled 90,000 original miles. Bought it in 2010 with alittle over 62,000 miles on it from the original owner. Ran many of conventional OCIs & synthetic OCIs with good filters. Hoping mine looks just as good or better then yours. Good luck with your new motor!!! What are you gonna use for oil & filters? Typical BITOG question!!!

P.S. My motor is not picky about any motor oil but seems to like the 10W30 over 5W30.

Agreed.

A few 5k OCI's on PYB and it'll clean right up!

You have them off, just clean them up.
No need to make it spotless, but break up anything that is loose or will scrub off easily.
The covers could use some cleaning for sure, but the valve train really is not too bad, just some thick varnish.

My old Beretta was almost there. 4k(?)(maybe less) worth of Castrol 0w40 and the filter was plugged enough to drop o p.
