I'm coming up on my 1st oil change on my 2022 Mercury 300 Pro XS. I'm doing a little research on oils. I found this one: Ultra1Plus 25W-40 Synthetic Blend 4T Engine Oil FC-W. Does anyone know anything about this oil?

Not sure about this exact oil, but so far all other Ultra1Plus oils show very weak additive packages. Check VOA/UOA section, if you're interested. I wouldn't even use it in my lawnmower. Seems like a "minimum requirements" oil, that is sold at premium prices. Much better options out there for the money.

I know a few people who successfully used (and still use) Mobil 1 15W-50 in their various outboards. Many years later, zero oil-related issues.

Walmart website currently shows Quicksilver (Mercury) for $28.47/gal, Super Tech $13.97/gal, Star*Tron for $19.99/gal, Mystic for $30.35/gal. All of them synthetic blends. I would trust any of them. I suspect you could pick up a gallon of Sierra from West Marine for a similar price too.
