It might be a waste, but we can all choose not to read/reply.
I mean, how many meaningful threads can we have a day? :)

I am stocking up on Ultra before they pull the plug on it around here. I can't see WM carrying an item unless it's a high volume mover and from what I can see it isn't moving at all besides myself.

South Korea is much different with China. South Korean technology is much advance compares with Chinese's. Samsung and LG makes some of the best HDTV's, Frigs, Washing machines ...

Yeah but my point is first the media hyped Japanese cars, then Korean, so I don't see facts stopping them from next hyping Chinese or India made cars. I'm not trying to debate whether Korean-made cars or other products are as good as Domestic or other brands. I'm not a fan of Korean brands or importing but maybe some others are. I'm just pointing out a clear trend in the media and that consumers buy on retail price and media recommendations then justify it later.

I don't know what happened either lol. I thought this was a Volvo thread but I guess it is a PU thread?

Right now the only place I've seen Ultra is in WM. My hunch is once Ultra is in AZ, AAP, and some of the other parts chains the prices will come down. The way AAP was offering Edge OC specials with a P1 filter a few months back I have a feeling they will do it with Ultra as well. Prior to the Edge OC specials we were complaining about Edge prices too. We're still complaining but a good deal with a filter gets a lot of us buying.

I think WM will drop prices once the competition heats up. For now they can be a little high and test the waters. At $28 for a 5 qt jug I'm on the sideline. Tempt me with a OC special including the filter and I'm in. Get it in the stores in 0W20 and some good specs, I'm all over it.

Dear Sir,

It started out as an " Ultra isn't selling up here" then from outta left field somebody said that it probably has something to do with Ford selling Volvo to the Chinese.

I realize that now, but when I first replied to that post, I could've sworn it was in its own thread and that post was the OP. Did 2 threads get moved together somehow or what?

I'd have bought a lot more if it came in a 0w30 with a high TBN

If this was the best oil ever bottled it wouldn't sell at $28.

Most of the, synthetic oil buying, public only understand 2 things:

1. Mobil 1

2. Synthetic oil that is cheaper than Mobil 1.

i think that is true art, there is M1 and syn oil that costs less for most people

But then I am not cheap and do not mind spending money on my vehicles.
You got it about right. In college I took a database management cource and they brushed up on walmart's big database....once a product sells, that register phones home to Home office (Arkansas) and tells them to either:
1) ship another bottle here
2) tell the dept manager to grab another bottle from the backroom (via electronic notification, generally over their handheld terminal).

And yea, the reason you don't see people stocking is the latest changes we've been hearing about. WM is moving towards more "customer service" in the day time hours, and more "stocking" after hours....i.e.: 7pm - 6am....when "normal" people are sleeping :)
