Got my oil change at Mr Goma, a local chain here in Miami. The guy said they use “Ultra Guard” motor oil when I asked. Is that even a thing or will this void my Kia warranty?

Only thing i can find is BG products gear oil. But you said motor so it's probably some obscure brand that can't even be found on the internet easily. Only other thing i can think of are those ultra guard oil filters by acdelco.

But other than that I'm sure it'll be fine for at least 3k.

Is this mr goma tires .com? Don't go there it's giving a "your connection is not private" error, having some issue with their SSL.

OP are you sure they didn't put gear oil in there, j/k of course.

Why are you sure the oil will be fine if you can't find any information about it? Just to put my question in perspective, PQIA has found numerous oils to not be fine, or even acceptable, including, if memory serves me, an Ultra Guard oil.

Yes, let's see a picture of their little API sticker of approval!

Because if this shop that has a website and multiple locations has been operating that long while using it without blowing up other customers engines up i cant say his will as well unless he goes beyond a safe interval.

Cam you link to the Ultra Guard oil analysis on the PQIA web site?
I can find no such listing.
Can't find it either. Only thing i can find is guard ultra from navi but that's a solid green. Guard ultra is unintuitive and weird but ultra guard sounds correct so maybe the guy mixed up the order.

Mr. Goma's website is not private. I live here in South Florida too and this is the first i've ever heard of it. I'm sorry but i wouldn't trust them either.

Mea Culpa ... Well, gang, my memory let me down. I remembered Ultra Guard on PQIA, but when I checked (which I probably should have done BEFORE making a comment) I realized I was mistaken. So sorry for any confusion or hassle ...
