Ultra Euro 5w40 can be purchased on Pennzoil website...$50.94 with free shipping.

They finally have some in stock? For $10 more I can get Lubro Moly 5w40 (6 liters!) and a filter shipped. Under $60 for 6 liters and a filter of a Group IV European Synthetic. I would have loved to try the PU, but not for that price.

From that same page I can get Pentosin and a filter for $50 shipped.

I think Shell is making a bad decision selling this oil for so much - when Platinum can be had for $3.99 a quart.

Oreilly's doesn't charge sales tax?

I was trying to order this at my local O'Reilly's, but not success... Do you have the O'Reilly's part number so I can try again? Thanks!

+1

My local O'Reilly's doesn't seem to stock it.

My local store doesn't stock it, but said they could call in an order. Their website shows two part numbers - SYNPOWER5-40 & 966. My store scanned a bottle of 5w30 and was then able to find the 5w-40 in the system that they could order. They can't order from their computer though, they said they had to call to get it.

But if you notice - they don't have it in stock. It "usually ships in 4 to 6 weeks".

They have the Valvoline MST 5w-40 in stock, with amazon prime, under $50. Not to mention, the Valvoline has been proven time and again whereas the Pennzoil is a new oil.

I have some Pennzoil on the way from out lady friend at SOPUS, so maybe my opinion will change after running it. I've heard good things - but I know for an absolute fact that the Valvoline 5w-40 is a great oil.

What makes a grp IV euro-synthetic better? I suspect the Ultra Euro is a blend of more than just their grpIII+

I think that was the train of thought of RI_RS4 w/the RLI HOBS.

More expensive, but you can run it longer.
