Uh Oh. Issues with paint?

And at this point in automotive coatings development history, not a good look for Hyundai. Here is another link to a consumer news story on their paint. It’s been a global issue. Hyundai’s lukewarm response is not encouraging either. Delaminating paint is NOT an issue that any automaker should hide behind once the warranty sunsets 😡

Ford has been hiding behind the issue for around 30 years now. People still buy them

I thought Ford and Chevy had the peeling paint marked cornered. I guess Hyundai wants to be in the big leagues. It is one of the most annoying problems and super expensive to fix.

Nah. It is the clear coat peeling off that Ford and Chevy had mastered back in, what was it, the '90's and early part of the 21st century?

There should be a "Bad Paint and Finishes Throughout Automotive History" look up.
It wouldn't be all that exhaustive as auto makers plus paint/finish suppliers equals a finite number.

Whites and reds have always been problematic.
In the old days, blue paint aged horribly.

Honda (odyssey) 2012-2015/16 has entered the chat....

white paint seems to be the one color that across brands has difficulties in staying attached to the body panels.

I sold my white 2015 Camry because of this. Didn't know it was an issue for Toyota but I found out it's quite prevalent. . Apparently it's not just Toyo.

Hyundai is a trash company that cuts corners. They have provided so many examples of this over the past decade.

Because the paint shares the same characteristics of paints you'd get your 5 year old kid at the local dollar store. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

White paint sticking good ! The family had a White 1962 Ramber, and when sold in I think 1975 the paint was perfect, it spent most of those years outside as well. Even the exhaust system was like brand new, because they ceramic coated all those parts. All the big 3 could not compete with them. Good paint in those days at least on amc's.
