OK, after reading about Ubuntu here, I decided to check it out. I went to the Ubuntu page, dwnld'd the desktop, 32bit image, used Nero to put it on a CD (and verify the data) and attempted to boot off of it.
No joy.
I read about checking the sums? or something of the file, so I dwnld'd winmd5sum, and it verified my dwnld was valid.
On this page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootFromCD it says if you only see one file on the CD, you burned it wrong. You should see many files. However, it doesn't explain this. I see only one file, the .iso image. So what did I do wrong?
I need some clarification here before I go chasing my tail. Nero says it's capable of handling .iso images. Is it suposed to split the image into all those files and burn that?
Please explain.
Thanks
