Uber adds fuel surcharge because of high gas prices

This makes sense even though we may not like it. I see the freight companies and other delivery services doing this. It reminds me of 2007/2008 when this same thing was going on. Your freight charge was "$x.xx" and your fuel surcharge was "$y.yy".

just my $0.02

I was having this discussion with my lyft driver last night coming home from the airport. He is in a Corolla, and is paying a lot more for fuel. No surcharge but I tipped him plenty well.

IMO, too little. Make it $1-2 - those who can(in the SF Bay Area, its usually a 20-something who works in tech, Cal/Stanford student living off a trust fund or people in the nicer parts of SF/Oakland-Berkeley and suburbs) will still use it, and those who can’t, will retreat to public transit - BART’s seeing their weekend ridership recover and AC Transit in Oakland/SF Muni has been at near-normal levels.

My dad’s driving for Lyft and I haven’t heard of anything from them.
