Tough course. Mickelson will be kicking himself for a lifetime, regretting his club choices late in the tourney.
Any golfer will tell you, when one club starts giving you trouble, put it in the bag and work out the problems later. That was just either arrogance or stupidity. I think he was thinking he could win in style. But this ain't the backyard league....geesh....this is almost as bad as Greg Norman blowing the Masters.
Either way, Phil's kids have shoes, and he's eating steak. You can't feel too bad for him.
Bad course management, bad execution, and bad luck on the 18th, cost him another major.
At least I didn't have to endure hearing about Woods, Woods,Woods, every other second.
I rooted for Phil, but Olgivie deserved the win.

Geoff showed alot of game yesterday and will be a top player for many years. I sat in my chair in dis-belief when Mickelson was on the 18th tee with driver.....I'm a big Mickelson fan but hats off to the Aussie!
1996, is there any other time worthy of mention for Greg???? I for one, don't believe Olgivie deserved to win. Beginners luck, even he said so himself. Phil on the other hand, well, he's had too much experience to let that happen to him. This will take some time to get over. I hope Tiger gets it together.
How about Monty! He is tied at +4 and blew it badly.They say Phil asked if Monty made the put on the last hole but never considered the Aussie.I felt he could of used a 2 Iron and made par off the tee. But he lets his old instinks get in his way.When he tried to use a wood out of the deep rough a few holes earlier I knew he was in trouble.Like Jonny Miller said win ugly but he became his own worst enemy.Remember Vegas won big because Phil lost too!
