Interesting chart. What the chart doesn't show is the "why" the increases by state.
Kudos to Nevada.

It's not just Ohio.I'm in Ohio and some are blaming our rate increases to the growth in data centers. It sucks and when you drive by a completed, operational data center, there are few employees. The capacity of Ohio data centers has to be Googled to be believed. "ohio data center capacity ranking worldwide"
How efficient are your solar panels? What kind of warranty? There are some new super efficient cells developed in 2023 that are 47.3% efficient but I'm sure are super expensive.Ouch!
I am so happy I pulled the trigger on the solar project in early 2018. The ROI keeps getting better. Sometimes you get lucky.
They'll be commercially available in ten to fifteen years, if ever. There always some advance in the lab being reported. How efficient are your solar panels? What kind of warranty? There are some new super efficient cells developed in 2023 that are 47.3% efficient but I'm sure are super expensive.
Worlds most efficient solar cell
oddly enough I was offered a security job there last year but the commute was terrible.
Ouch!

Dunno about efficiency. The LG panels were tops at the time but I have to imagine the current tech has improved. How efficient are your solar panels? What kind of warranty? There are some new super efficient cells developed in 2023 that are 47.3% efficient but I'm sure are super expensive.

Since I'm retired, blow the AC in the hot Los Gatos sun and drive an EV, I consume a lot more then when I was working.Same. It costs about 8K a year to power my house without the solar.
Total no brainer where I live and at the time I did it.
I hit break even in 3 years. YMMV
It’s year seven. You’ve finally broken even on your initial investment. Now you can crow!Ouch!

I’m sure they will solve fusion by then.Dunno about efficiency. The LG panels were tops at the time but I have to imagine the current tech has improved.
The panels are guaranteed to produce a certain percentage for 20 years; they will continue to degrade but will still produce. I figure by that time science will have solved some of our energy needs, at least I hope so.
Same with National Grid.Looking at a 35% electric increase from NYSEG ( New York State Electric & Gas ). Politicians are trying to fight it, but you know that never works. NYSEG says they need the increase to upgrade infrastructure and to offset costs from bad storms that happened years ago. Yeah, right. More B.S.
Battery storage and arbitrage. Check out Docan. One of many reasons why I want to move out of Illinois is because Ameren operates a predatory monopoly on the utilities they provide. My electricity bills have doubled this summer due to their program changes in how they charge for electricity alone.
They have changed to a system which monitors the temperature and usage in your area and jacks up the rates accordingly. When you need it most, that's when they're going to charge the most. I dread to see what they're going to do with gas this winter but if it's anything like electric there will be many people either going cold or getting gouged on their bills every month.
Maryland is part of PJM, which covers multiple states. Here's an article discussing what is happening with PJM. Having in-state production is no assurance of lower prices. That's what trade is all about. Some producers have an advantage so everyone specializes.Maryland increases are a result of our shutting down running plants and now not having enough capacity within our borders. We have to buy power from other states. Maryland is trying to be at the forefront of the green movement.
Well, you might say solar panels tap in to that big nuclear fusion reactor up in the sky...I’m sure they will solve fusion by then.
Fusion is only a couple of years away, right? I’ve been seeing that headline since, oh, about 1975…
