Type F ATF used in Hydraulic System

I have a 1987 Mustang Skid Steer that requires Type F ATF fluid to be used in the hydraulic system. Is there a.compatible or alternative fluid that can be used?

Type F is still readily available and cheap though I don't see why it must have type F. Don't know if this hydraulic system has a clutch that needs it.

Order a bunch, some stores have it in store some not.

I'm pretty sure you could use a standard hydraulic fluid that's commonly available. Do you have any manuals or or info you can link to about this machine?

Any generic Type F has a kinematic viscosity of about 7.2 cSt@100C and is in the ISO 46 category for hydraulic fluids.

Fluids such as Amsoil's Supershift Type F, Valvoline Type F, SuperTech Type F, and most ISO 46 hydraulic fluids (such as Traveller ISO 46 Anti-Wear Hydraulic Oil, Tractor Supply) should function in your skid.
