Two unanswered questions

Two questions I would really like answered.

1. Can we get in writing from Mobil that Mobil 5000 is grp III? A nice letter that someone could post.

2. Will someone post a pic of the Supertech Synthetic that says it meets ACEA A3?

Mobil 5000 is NOT Group III .

I repeat.......there isn't any Group III in Mobil 5000.


I asked GeorgeCLS who is VERY knowledgeable with Mobil oils/lubes and he even said that there is NO Group III oil in Mobil 5000.

SuperTech Full Synthetic IS ACEA A3 rated. It's right on the back of the 5qt jug.
No need for a picture.

I agree with LT4 on the Mobile5K. I can't see how XOM would be able to sell a grpIII oil for under $2 anyway.
Mobile 7500 may be a different story.

GeorgeCLS also said that Mobil 5000 had no sodium? What should I believe? I guess only Mobil knows for sure.

The base oils in this product are severely solvent refined and/or hydrotreated.

I wonder why Havoline doesn't say the same thing, since it outperformes Mobil Clean 5000.

I know for a fact that the Supertech 10W30 synthetic in the 5 quart container has the ACEA A3 claim on the jug. I just helped my neighbor change his oil and it had this label.

It also claims to be a high mileage product as well.

Seems like I heard someone on this site say Mobil 7500 contained group lll oil. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Mobil 7500 is a blend.
