Greetings-
I just restored a 1965 BSA motorcycle and would like opinions/experiences on adding TCW-3 Two Stroke oil to gas to lubricate valve seats. Lead in gas did this, but not available, so could this work and how much to add to gas?

TC W oil is for low temp water cooled, use oil for chain saws. some engines get better economy, some do not. My motorcycles, the 2002 BMW got 2 more mpg. Both of the later ones do not.

you're saying to add chain/bar oil to gas? How much?

If heads have not had hardened valve seats installed I would use a dedicated lead substitute. No 2 stroke oil is going the lube / protect the valve seats like a lead substitute that is designed for protecting old engines without hardened valve seats.

Two cycle oil will not lube valve seats in a beneficial way. It will lube up the rings and cylinder.

Your two choices are lead substitute which you can find but it may be difficult.

Or 100LL mixed with E0 like Cujet mentioned.

Now.....I know nothing about BSA motorcycles, never heard of them until now. I zoomed in on a photo and they appear to use an aluminum head. As such there will be some kind of hardened valve seats pressed into the aluminum so you should be good to go without anything.
