Trying to decide between Michelin Defender 2 or Yokohama Avid Ascend GT

I was looking at the Yoko Avid Ascend GT but went with the Avid Ascent LX as it was not much more money. Ride is very smooth and quite with a much longer milage warranty. I have had them over 30k on my Subaru Legacy and they don't even look like they have worn much. Have been very solid performers in the rain and decent in the snow, but perhaps that is due to being on a Subaru.

Yeah I've worn out 2 sets of Michelin energy saver AS and I run my leaf hard. They're supposed to go 50,000 miles and I could get 50,000 if I ran them down to the wear bars.
We had some Energies and they lasted 30k on a Camry; followed by Primacy that lasted 30k to 4/32's... I pushed to the bars and finally off at 40k. Went with R43's after that and didn't look back. Would do 40k to 4/32's for less money. The Michelins had better wet traction at the end, but I couldn't justify the extra cost per mile.

Dunno about on an EV, and of course, RT43's are gone now (and weren't as good of a deal towards the end). Have some Conti's that have done 40k that are due for replacement, but seemed to have done the job. Zero help to the OP I know. At 150 miles per day the Michelins might be the better tire; I liked the set on my Tundra but they cracked after 2 years, so... I'd only contemplate another set if I knew I could kill them in 2 years, and live with a 40k lifespan.

Thank You everyone for your replies. Picking an option was harder than I thought it would be 🤣 . Nearly half went with Yokohama and half with Michelin for suggestions. Other suggestions were too expensive as the options I provided had a hefty discount on them as they were price matched.

A couple days after making this post, I accepted a part time job with a 150 mile round commute. Putting that into the equation my mileage is going to go up dramatically. It seemed to make more sense to go with the Michelin's after that with the longer wear.

Of course you are now required to provide evaluations and feedback so we know for future. All aspects please 😁. Noise, ride, rain, winter, handling.
