Trouble Reading 2018 Civic Dipstick

Another idea would be to completely clean and blot that plastic end of oil with paper towels before reinserting and checking.

I have had no experience with that type of dipstick and I also wonder why Honda put that plastic on there? A simple metal dipstick with fine texturing on the measuring end would be sufficient and easy to check.

I did that every time. Still didn't feel good about saying with certainty what the level was. Like I say, best I could determine, was that it was about halfway between the L & H.
