Blackstone confirmed what I had hoped wasn't true; I have a leaking (probably) upper intake gasket on my Windstar. Noticed a slight coolant loss over the course of the OCI so I sent a sample off. Fortunatly it's slow and not killing the engine as long as I change it around the same milage (who knows what previous owners did though)

So it's a set of new intake gaskets for me and another sample a couple months down the road or so.
My first ever UOA and kudos to Blackstone for good service!

Bah, I wish I could edit. It's usually the lower intake gasket that leaks. Hopefully it's not the timing cover

The local dealer wanted $2500 to fix the timing cover gasket leak of our olf 96 Windstar. Big, expensive job.

I congratulate you on your UOA, most people wouldn't go this far to find out, for sure, what's going on deep within the recesses of the engine.

Good luck!
