Here again, people are sidetracking from the question and acting as though Triax has no API certifications. They are more comparable to Valvoline in having some products approved, and some which they only recommend. Does that make Valvoline bad or suspect? Apples and Apples people. It's the same condition.

Not on PQIA lists???? They haven't tested every product on the market. Nor are they a sanctioning body. They don't certify diddly squat. They just report on what they HAVE tested.

The question was what do people think of the VOA. Seems plain Jain to me.

Thanks for posting that API list. I didn't know that existed.

PQIA seems to target "sketchy" products typically sold at convenience stores. They actually found some that were used oil!! LOL

Agree that PQIA is a great resource for identifying stuff you don't want to use. My point is that not being listed there only means they haven't tested it, nothing more.

The API does not approve oils. And it’s the approval part that’s the problem, as already noted here multiple times.

Well, the 0w30 that the OP asked about is not on the API Engine Oil Licensing List.

The one marketing aspect I don’t like is their description of SRT oils as being pao/ester… according to this 2017 sds…. Yes they include 10-15 percent pao/ester and 85 percent group 3 highly refined fluids….

Maybe I don’t like that type of marketing because it targets an individual like myself… who has rudimentary knowledge of different base stocks… and initial reaction was-wow what-a price for that mixture of base stocks… I want that oil…also didn’t find the sds form on their website as have looked before… I just googled triax srt oil sds and that came up.
Now in fairness-Redline marketed similarly through the years emphasizing it is an ester based oil… and posted one of their sds versions a few years back and they listed pao as the primary-like 80 percent or so basestock… I do like Redline-and using that much pao is not seen with most other companies so tend to give them a break.
