Trending Content question

My bad if I couldn't find it in a quick search, but just curious why every once in a while, Trending Content will contain a thread that's been locked...for years. In this image, the 4th one down about RP...it hasn't had a reply since 2006 and is locked. How is that trending if it's not able to be commented on?

Maybe it’s the most viewed threads that day that are put into the trending content section? That’s my only thought either that or someone replied to it and it was deleted but I remember once a thread gets a certain age it gets locked automatically so that seems impossible so either it’s totally random or it goes by the most viewed threads for that time.

There's only 1 "like" in the whole thread ... post 31 (linked below) done last Sunday. Maybe that did trigger it, but seems there's a 100 threads more active and trending that that one.

This brings me to another question. In a typical oil analysis can the type of base oil be determined, or does that involve a much more costly in depth type of analysis?

That's one of the mysteries of life. I have no idea why.
