So my parents don't do maintenance on anything.

According to NordicTrack, the treadmill needs to be lubed every once in a while (I haven't looked at the manual lately but I'm sure its overdue). I talked to a NordicTrack customer service rep a few years ago and she wanted to sell me some lube to put on the belt/rollers.

What else can I use?
Or should I leave it alone? It is working fine but it is a little loud at higher speeds, as it always was.

Thanks

I was told NOT to use silicone, oil etc..and to only use the lube recommended by the manufacturer. There is a website called Treadmilldoctor.com that sell lubes and other parts very reasonably. the lube will definetely help your belt and motor last longer.

I worked for Precor for almost ten years.

Any decent treadmill will have sealed bearings. No lubing those.

If they have some type of lube for the belt and the deck you should follow their directions. Maybe buy one container, smell it, do a VOA, get the MSDS and let's have a look.

Some use wax.
