Tommorow,My wife and I plan to take a road trip to Florida,900 miles each way. We have family there and see them 2-3 times annually. We are taking the 96 Mercury Grand Marquis, 206,000 miles. I've kept track of the times we have driven this car to that state, and this will be the 17th trip in the Merc. Fresh fill of M1 in the engine and transmission, so hope all goes well.

I drove my somewhat ill-maintained '99 Cherokee to Florida and back for a weekend in Daytona (for the 500) recently. 1800 or so miles in all, no problems.

Went to Fla in 93 in my wifes old Maxima,154k on the clock made it there and part way back when the master cylinder went, drove the remaining 900 miles with one front and one rear brake working! AHH young and stupid!!!

My 2000 F-350 has 338,000 miles on it and im loading 5 guys and the trailer full of gear and heading to Austin from Ca in two weeks. NOT a single thought in my mind that I will have any problems on my way there or back.

just did a CA to AZ run last month with zero issues other than the truck needed a good bath when it got there.

I wish I could manufacture a reason for a road trip. The trouble is that anywhere I *want* to go (i.e., with mountains and fresh dry air) can't be reached by car in less than three days. But I won't be able to take ten days or more off until late in May . . . and then it's too hot to go anyplace.
