That sounds normal for running around unloaded. I would expect up to 220 towing heavy loads.

Seems kind of cool to me. I would have thought at least 180F or so.

My Corvette and Dodge truck are on that range just loafing.
my chrysler minivan would stay at 120F and below until the van was rolling at least 45 minutes in normal driving. hard hill climbs would quickly climb to 200. normal driving after an hour-- 160-170F, summertime

PS: In another forum I'm involved with, someone wants to add a tranny cooler. Our cars don't have a tranny temp gauge so I'm wondering why he thinks he needs a cooler. ???

That temp is just fine. Many would be envious of it.
But it depends on WHERE it is taken. Pan/sump readings are what you want.
Up to 220F is livable.
