I have an 04 Marauder with 22K, I was thinking of doing 6 ounces of Auto-Rx at 29K, then flush the trans at 30K and add Amsoil ATF, is doing the Auto-Rx thing in the transmission a waste of time, I currently have a filtermag magnet on the bottom of the pan, any advice would be appreciated. By the way the transmission is the 4R75W model.

I would ,the A R/X would give the Amsoil a clean trans to work in.
I probably don't know enough to answer...but, on my 04 Gramp Marquis, when I had it flushed at 30,000 miles, it was very clean. There is a magnet in the pan already on the 4R70W transmission...don't know about yours.
I would drop the pan to judge the cleanliness as well as look for problems first. Clean the pan. If overall it is clean and no problems, I'd flush/fill with AmSoil now. If not clean, I'd replace the fluid with Mercon V and some ARX, then flush fill with AmSoil after running it a while.

Titan, I also have a magnet on the bottom side of my transmission pan called a "Filtermag", when I look at the fluid on the dipstick the color is red of course my car has a trans cooler on it so it should not look bad, what type of transmission fluid do you use. Let me clarify that this magnet is on the outside of the pan, not on the inside of the pan.
c3po, with only 22,000 miles on your car, unless you drag race it a lot, or tow things frequently, I can't possibly see your transmission needing an ARX treatment. Of course, it certainly won't hurt anything if you do it anyway.
Did you know that the 4R70W already has a magnet inside the pan? Look at the driver's side rear portion of the pan and you'll see a small circular indent with 3 oval indents around it...that's where the magnet is.

Yes, I am on that board, no I do not drag race the car,I know that the trans has a magnet but I am sure it is not that powerful, I wanted to get the Ford U-Haul trans pan with drain plug, but it is $63.00 plus $7.00 shipping. I also do not tow anything either.
I use Mercon V from Motorcraft, but, have been draining out 4 quarts from the filler tube every 10,000 miles, and replacing with Mobil 1 Mercon V compatible ATF. Figure I'll do this for 3x4 times, drop the pan to make sure all still looks good, and continue the process.
Going to Straight AmSoil would be a good move, too...just too cheap to do it all at once, and I'm only going to keep the car until about 200,000 miles before I sell it.

Oh, by the way, if the magnet in yours is half as powerful as the magnet in mine, it's certainly strong enough. If I didn't know it was a magnet, I wouldn't have known I could remove it, it sticks so tightly to the pan!

Then go to your local NAPA (or whatever you've got near you) and buy a universal drain plug kit...they're like $8. Drill a ½" hole in the backside of the little sump in the bottom of the pan. Wallah...
