Be aware that there are 2 types of transmission services. There is the basic service where they just drop the pan and drain a few quarts. Then there is the flush service in which all your old fluid is flushed and replaced with new. This may take up to 14qts of ATF and cost more than double. I recommend the latter if you have not been changing your fluid every xx, xxxx miles per your owners manual. I did a flush at 20k on my truck and plan to just do the pan drop change every 12k. Just something to think about!

Make sure that you have the filter changed also, and make sure that the ATF is what is required by the owners manual, the dipstick, or a TSB.

I personally didn't care for the Castrol Syntec ATF DexronIII and the Castrol MerconV.

If its in your budget use a synthetic. If not, the Motorcraft/Conoco OEM fluid is the best. I also like the Aamco blended MerconV over the Pennzoil and Castrol MerconVs.
