TransMax Dex/Merc vs TransMax Import/Multi-Vehicle

What exactly is the difference between these two?

Both are spec'd for use in vehicles that require Dexron III (along with many others)

My 97 Land Cruiser requires Dexron II/III, so the Dex/Merc will be fine, but then again, it is a Toyota, so what should I choose?

The Import/Multi-Vehicle claims to be compatible with both Dexron II/III and T-Type IV, yet Toyota has a TSB that specifically says Type IV is NOT compatible with any vehicle that originally calls for Dexron II/III

The DEX/MERC fluid doesn't cover "foreign" applications. If a foreign vehicle happens to spec Dexron III though, you'd be fine. The IMV fluid simply covers more applications including compatibility with Dexron applications.

Seems as though you can use either.

Seems the Castrol falls somewhere in the middle.

I'd use a Dex 3 or Dex 6.

That TSB shamefully refers to the GM product as "Dextron".

If I remember right, IMV is/was also a licensed Mercon V.
