Did the change today at 61,000 miles on my 2021 Gladiator. I went with Red Line D6 fluid, a new Mopar filter, and put a new spec Mopar gasket on it. All went well. About 5.5 quarts came out and that is about what went back in. It drives and shifts smoothly, just as it did before. I will probably do it again at about 100k and every 50k after that.

I wanted to do a used oil analysis on the old fluid, but I did it at my brother´s house on his new lift and forgot my sample kit. Oh well. The old fluid looked very dark with the green color only visible with light shining through it while dripping and the magnets were loaded up with iron shavings, as expected and like every YouTube video shows.

Now I just have to do an oil change and put some new Harbor Freight RoadShock lights on it and she´s ready for a big off-road trip to Moab, Utah!

Nice work! I plan on servicing my Wrangler’s ZF8 in the spring. I’m going to try the Amsoil ATF. Keep us up to date on your trip!!

That was the other choice I considered. It lost in a coin flip! LOL. Valvoline also now has a premium ATF that looks interesting and is much less expensive. I might have given it a go if I had noticed it soon enough.

But I´ve run Red Line C+ in my Wrangler´s manual transmission and it seemed to be a little smoother and comes out looking (at least visually) in better shape than the standard ATF+4. And like Amsoil, it appears Red LIne uses better synthetic base-oils than the Mopar, ZF, or Valvoline MaxLife. IIRC, the D6 flows at something like 76 below zero, which is a crazy number.
