Trailer light wiring help

I am trying to repair the trailer lights on my Toyota pickup. I had one of those Hoppie plug and play kits go bad, so I am using the existing wiring. I have the tail lights and turn signals done correctly, but where to you connect the brake lights? I tried splicing into the green and yellow wires (left, right turn) but it just back feeds the turn signals into the brake lights.

Duh, I have individual amber turn signals. I needed a converter. Thanks for jarring my brain FMF.
