I have all the stores close.
Any brand that is decent?
Price isn't a big concern.
This is for a ZT. mower.
Napa is close...AZ...etc.
Thanks

You'll likely get a better deal at WalMart or a farm supply store, than an overpriced auto parts store.
One of my local farm supply store sells relabelled Dekas. That's where I go first.

I purchase my ope battery’s from WalMart mostly I get 3 to 5 years out of them. Keep them chargEd up in the winter.
That would work well as on these Zt mowers the battery has a harsh life under the seat. Thanks.

From someone who has bought many over the years.
Buy the cheapest one you can find (Walmart/farm store usually) because they are all junk.
I managed to get 1 year out of an overpriced JD battery, and have gotten 4 or 5 out of the $25. or less variety.
Just chalk them up as a consumable, and treat them as such.

I totally agree.
Now the battery on my diesel tractor is 12 years old but these small mowers the battery as you said is a consumable... I see Napa has a 3 month replacement warranty...big deal...lol

Just be careful, get the biggest CC Amps. Shop around.

I use the 450 CC amp version, and this is in my motorcycle.

Same in my 22 HP Husqvarna tractor.
Plenty of extra power for lights and the PTO

The Interstate U1 battery I bought at Costco is still going strong after 4 years. The first three years I took it out over the winter and put it on a tender or at least charged it up a few times. This year I left it in the tractor and charged it once around Christmas time. I used the mower for the first time this weekend and it cranked hard. FYI, for what it's worth.

I got tired of replacing batteries on My John Deere X585. I went to the JD dealer and bought a Strong Box John Deere battery. It is rated for heavy duty use and resists the jarring, vibration and other things that a tractor battery sees. I can't remember what I paid but it was more reasonable than I expected. Has a great guarantee. It will be the last battery that you will buy for years to come. IMHO...just do it.

Agm power sports battery on mine from Walmart. WM wanted $60 for a u1, for 75 I got a JCI agm. Been a year, so far so good.

Got one from Napa because it was close. Got 15% off no sales tax and it fired right off. Was a 375 CCA
Now i need to put some tubes in the caster tires..
The old one was an interstate but as you guys say on these little batteries that doesn't mean much...thanks all

nah they are no more a consumable than any other car battery. I've got 8yrs on my walmart U1 and its still going strong. the trick is to remove it for the winter and keep it on a charger in your basement. my neighbor won't bother to do that, and every spring I watch him try to jump start his tractor before he goes and gets a new battery. every year. and he could certainly recharge the old battery if he had a proper charger, but for him it's too much hassle for a $40 battery.

I believe a lawn tractor battery will actually last longer than a car battery for 2 reasons: 1) lawn tractors charge at 14.4v while running, this keeps the battery fully charged and won't damage it because you're not running it for many hours every day. they don't try to save gas by undercharging the battery like many cars do, and 2) lawn tractors don't have computers that pull parasitic draw on the battery when it sits unused. So the battery stays fully charged until the next weekly mow. so long as you don't leave the key on by mistake (yes i've done that).

Costco in Southeast Michigan has stopped carrying the U1 or any lawnmower battery. They only have automotive. Even the Costco Interstate website no longer shows lawnmower batteries. If you do a Google search for Costco U1, the Canadian website shows the U1 battery under the Kirkland Signature brand.

The AGM power sports battery didnt make it past year three.

I purchased then an original battery from ariens. The first one made it something like 6 years. The second one is now in year 3 and starts like it was new. I’m liking the ariens battery. It’s a small, sealed battery, some sort of gel cell or perhaps AGM. I think I paid $69 for it.

Probably true, but the lack of warranty on this type of battery (when compared to a regular car battery) does suggest that they tend to last way less than a car battery. i suspect that the lack of warranty on tractor batteries is due to the number of people who only use them seasonally and don't maintain the battery.
