The Costco interstate batteries are getting pretty weak after 4 years in my truck. I'm actually pretty happy with them.

I called Costco today and the lady said I had to come in to look at the prices. Wouldn't give any price over the phone.

Been shopping around getting ready for the inevitable.

Autozone and the other parts houses are out of the question due to price.

I dont want junk so the cheap Walmart batteries are also out . I bought 4 or 5 one year and they all died exactly 1 year later.

Walmart has the next step up but warrantying them if needed is a huge hassle I dont want to deal with.

Battery mart gets $280 for 2 of their house brand ones and $400 for deka ones.

Any ideas?

With 2 VWs, I replace my batteries at five or six years with VW dealer batteries. A bit more in cost but extremely reliable. I replace them proactively as we are in our late 70's and i don't want my wife stranded somewhere. I am very pleased with these batteries.

What are you looking for, a pair of Group 65s?

Who makes the Walmart batteries in your area, Deka, Clarios, or Exide?

Walmart is probably the answer you didn't want to hear. The question is probably "who in my desert town has a good deal on batteries?"

I have a red-label 2-year-warranty Walmart Group 65 in my F150 dated 2/22 that works fine but of course I'm not in the same climate as you so my recommendation is near meaningless.

Do you have a Ford dealer nearby? Motorcraft OEs which you can't get are awesome but their aftermarket aren't bad either.

I went with Walmart instead of Costco for my recent H5 AGM. It was $189 vs $179 at Costco, but had a 4 year non-prorated warranty.
I scheduled installation online via the Walmart app. They took care of disposal of old battery. l was in and out in under 30 minutes.

The warranty and receipt is in the Walmart app which makes everything convenient.

Yesc 65s. They say Korea on them so I dont know.
The serial will tell you. If it starts with JC it’s Clarios - reference to Johnson Controls. They have manufacturing in South Korea.
If the serial number adjacent to the barcode on a WalMart EverStart battery from Korea starts with DNA, it is manufactured by DN Automotive. They are decent batteries with quality akin to Clarios...but slightly below East Penn. Some previous info is in this BITOG thread.

You can check the prices costco batteries online by using google. Costco batteries are usually cheaper dependant on the group size

Ooof. Batteries Plus anywhere nearby? They are deka. Does Sam’s still sell the “Duracell” brand? Those at least used to be relabeled Dekas.

I think all Clarios flooded are coming from Korea. Clarios AGMs you have to read the label to know the country of origin..could be Korea, Mexico, China, India or Germany. The German ones are made at the same Varta plant supplying Mercedes and BMW. The specs are identical to the BMW batteries.

Look, this isn't car shopping at a dealership, the prices should be online - seriously, did you try looking ??

If you have a Rural King in your area they are hard to beat.
