Found out afterwards wish these TracFone reps knew the right answers before the switch.. they assured me I wouldn't lose certain features. I was using TracFone T-Mobile sim network coverage wasn't great in my current area so I switched to the Verizon sim.

T-Mobile sim, had WiFi calling and visual voicemail.

Verizon sim, doesn't have WiFi calling or visual voicemail.

Anyone on here take advantage of WiFi calling and find visual voicemail useful? it sure beats dialing into vm.

wifi calling saves your calling data when you are on wifi. visual voicemail is handy, but unless you get a lot of voicemails everyday, not really needed.

are you sure you just have not set it up??

Thanks for sharing the link, I spent 2 days on this. Now I read on a forum Verizon doesn't provision the TracFone network for these features.. not sure if I'm buying it.🙄

Here's 2 screen shots one showing the WiFi calling option and toggle not available since the vz sim the other showing error message trying to activate the TracFone visual vm app as per video on their site.

Verizon reserves those features for their customers, all they’d have to do is click a button and send out a carrier update for you to get it. But Tracfone and other MVNO’s like it get the other carriers leftovers essentially, why give your lowest paying customers all the same perks as your main customers?

You're correct.. they cringe to give any more than talk text and some data slop. Once I'm permanently in sc I'll switch back to TMobile sim. I got too much going on to worry bout Verizon being petty. As long as I get calls and texts for now I'm good.

You need to have certain phones for those features to work. Are you using a phone provided by TracFone? If so, which model?

my tracfone branded moto g power (2020 model) works perfectly with wifi calling
My pixel took alot of fiddling just noticed wifi calling is actually off again.. oops.
My non tracfone branded moto g power (2020) has grayed out wi-fi calling.
but wifi calling worked fine on Google-FI
So its probably to do with your firmware/phone.

Phone is a LG k31 unlocked. GSM/CDMA. I accept it this particular phone with TracFone vz sim just doesn't receive WiFi calling and visual vm.

If I stay with TracFone I'll probably purchase a TracFone bloatware loaded up device but at least all features will function.

Have my eye on the Samsung Galaxy A01, if it can be had for the $30-40 range.

motorola phones even cheep ones like my moto e list all possible connections, BUT as noted PITA big boys want as much of your $$$ as they can get, so they limit competition!! Verizon is said to be the WORSE! those xtras are good if you really need or just want them, but a waste for the regular joe that only wants the basics for cheep!! your choice your $$$$$
