TP-Link routers may be banned due to national security concerns

Yes, all routers have end of life and I bet 75% or more of USA routers are there. Canvass your area door to door and ask how many homeowners know if their router is end of life. It doesnt matter any more than everyone's Social Security number is on the dark web as far as choosing one router above. I am certainly qualified to make this statement as having worked with hundreds of homeowner routers.
Does that make it ok? I dont care if the Chinese hack me to take over the energy grid?? What is your point?

TP Link has always been the most overrated garbage out there.

I did it 5 years ago and was so happy to throw it all away after two replacements and hours noodling with it.
I have never heard of TP Link being anything "overrated". They are the cheapest stuff of the same grade from a reasonable brand without going no name risking exploding power supply or capacitors. Basically, they are the Mitsubishi Mirage and anything less would be a Lada or Daewoo. It doesn't mean Mitsubishi Mirage is a Corolla, just not a Daewoo or Lada. That's it, IMO.

For the same price will I buy TP Link over a Linksys or ASUS? Obviously not, but they are typically 15-20% cheaper than them so you get to buy either a better router (i.e. more antenna more band, spend more on a mesh, or upgrade more often).

You can keep your Linksys from last generation as well, it will work fine if you don't need a new router. I used my WRT160N till it drop Team calls above 6mbps upstream speed, so I have no choice but to upgrade per my employer's IT department. It was working fine still after 11 years.
