My 2006 Tundra v-6 after sitting for 3 or 4 days, when I start the engine, the lifters tap for about 10 seconds as though there is no oil in the filter. Anyone else experienced this problem. My initial thought is oil is leaking back past the anti drain back valve. I use Toyota filters.

I have in the past on 4.0L in my 06 tacoma with many types of filters. the best and no engine rattle to date is with a Fram XG 3600.

You don't have hydraulic lifters in that engine. The cam lobes act directly on the buckets. What filter are you using and what weight oil? The filter is mounted upside down? My 2010 is.

You could install a filter relocation kit that puts the filter upright...threads up. That should fix it.

Almost all oil filters do. Problem is that it still seeps out the open center hole over a few days if the filter is upside down.
Some filters have an internal standpipe to keep help the filter at least partially full during long off times.

took toyota filter off today, put a purolator on in its place
will let you know of my results in 3 or 4 days. When I took the toyota filter off today, it had at best 4 or 5 ounces of oil in it.

there are numerous threads about using Mobil 1 and higher valvetrain noise-regardless of vehicle. One of the reasons I choose not to use Mobil 1 is because of this tendancy.
In your particular case, logic says it's a defective anti drainback valve on the filter---you'll find out soon enough

Hope it's not the "Classic", I had nasty start up noise on a 4.6L Ford Modular with one of those, never had a issue with the Pure One...

my 1990 4runner did the same thing, lifter noise on startup and nothing has come of it in 280k and 21 years.
