Hey guys,

I rotated my tires today by jacking up my car with jackstands today, placing the "plate" at one of the spots of the frame where it was covered by the stuff under the car that feels like a black layer of tar/rubber/plastic. After I was done, I noticed some of the stuff is peeling off due to the jackstand. I am wondering if I should be worried about it?

Why is it there anyways?

Probably undercoating to help prevent rust; you can buy it in an aerosol can and touch up if you'd like.

P.S. It also dampens road noise as well.

I went and put a little bit of permatex rubberish sealant thing on it, should work the same.

what is it called in the aerosol can?

i dont remember the name of the product, but i have used it before. it didnt seem to hold up very well.

i have been tempted to try one of the cheapie paint-on truck bed liners.
