Both are low silicate and the Japanese are about the only ones who believe the silicates will harm waterpumps, but if you actually look at the product data sheets G-05 has a higher silicate content than traditional green and like I said because most all of original green is formulated for the HD low silicate requirement.

Dexcool is an OAT but plenty of GM vehicle and European vehicles factory filled don't have cavitation problems despite no silicates, phosphates, molybdate etc. That is if the cooling system is kept full, which is the shortcoming.

A *current* formula green contains about 250 ppm silicate:

while the G-05 from the same company is in the 220-250 ppm range:

Both of these coolants are considered "low silicate" (e.g., 250 ppm or less).

The old fashioned conventional green contained around 1500 ppm silicate, plus or minus 500 ppm.
 
OK I think the G-05 has been updated somewhat. A few months back I seen the silicon listed in the 350 ppm region iirc. Looks like they are both at the 250 ppm HD requirement. Yeah, the old green was high silicate but it has been a low silicate for quiet awhile.
