Towing Service > 100 miles?

If the car won't start because of a weak battery, they test it and the alternator. If the battery tests bad they put in a new one on the spot.
Except when they don't.

Small examples: I have 2 friends with oddball BMW. One has battery under rear seat, other has battery in/under trunk. Do you think AAA tow truck will have complete assortment of batteries on board? In all areas? 24 hours a day?

They will flat bed it to home or repair shop.

Looking at extended towing options - AAA plus or premium seems to be the best for anything in 100 miles or above category, that is what am after.

Appreciate your pick or preference? Thanks
From where to where? My dealership does hundreds of tows every year and we subscribe to a bulletin board service that allows a not so small army of haulers to accept transport at a specified price.

From where you are located to the garage of your choice within 100 miles. If you want to go beyond 100 miles-or you are located more than 100 miles from anywhere (can happen in The West) then you pay so much per mile there after.

Waiting for the link to the "free" battery benefit offered through AAA; Google shows nothing.
I have their Premier plan and have scoured the benefits details and came up with no such thing except that they come out and that the installation is free.

It's not free, it's an add on for $10-$15 a year to your membership.

That add-on must be a local regional option, not the standard AAA policy. I diagnosed a dead battery for my elderly neighbor last winter and she used her AAA membership to get it replaced and was charged $150 for the AAA labeled Clarios battery which they installed for free. I asked the AAA mechanic whether it was covered by her Premier plan and was shown the details below which he claimed the battery was sold at a slightly discounted price.

This is the battery price quote tool on the AAA website:

The Premier plan itself don't give you a free battery. She needs the additional Premier Battery add-on. I'm not making this up. This is my last renewal,

I used Good Sam for a very short period but quit after they couldn’t furnish a tow a couple of times. I’m now using Allstate Motor Club. Got some deal through the AARP site (not a member). I get seven tows up to 100 miles or other types of aid per year. Covers my wife and I for about $110. Got towed twice so far without problems.
