The Castrol Australia website recommends Castrol Transmax Z synthetic atf for my Toyota Kluger/Highlander V6 transmission when it is out of warranty. Has anyone experience of this atf as a replacement for Type 1V?

I'm using Transmax Z in my Subaru Outback, but I don't intend on using it in my Lesux RX330 - I think I'll stick to Toyota Type IV for that.

I have lots of positives for Transmax Z though.

Thats weird. I would think that Transmax-Z would be a perfect full synthetic replacement for the likes of Dexron or Mercon. I also believe that it is blended as a multivehicle ATF. So, it would be safe.

I would think that Transmax-J would be a better choice for T-IV. J is HFM, synthetic blend(cheaper then Z), and JASO cerified for slip controlled transmissions. These would be the T-IV, SPIII, and other J-specs.

Transmax Z is Definately Nissan Matic D compatible, if thats any help.
If Castrol Oz recommend it for the Kluger, it would be safe enough to use, otherwise they would be opening themselves up to a claim if it lead to a lubricant derived failure.
