First of all, I started a new thread as my last post this evening put me at "666" posts thus far. Ain't no way momma's third child is going to bed this evening with that number next to his name!

On another thread, I asked about my Toshiba laptop and the fact that 1/3 of my screen had "disappeared." Thanks for the replies.

I took the Satellite A105-4104 back to the point of purchase (MicroCenter). They ran a "PC check" program for 24 hours that told them there may be a loose connection.

Ultimately, Toshiba replaced the LCD display and sent it back to me at no charge. I had an extended warranty that covered everything EXCEPT the display. $350 for display problem repairs, $620 if you cracked the LCD.

Right! Lemme get my checkbook out for that one.

They did manage to wipe out every password I had on the laptop, including my Wi-Fi configuration, plus they moved the files under "my documents" to "my computer," but considering they did it all for one of my favorite "f" words, i.e., "free," who cares?

Nice to see MFG providing support without hassle.

Glad your back on the road with the laptop!

Take care, Bill

Last year my wife bought an ACER and it messed up and had to send it back to a service center in Texas And returned it on their $$$ for the freight 3 times because it wasn't completely fixed ,it is still at the service center. Not an impressive computer for the beginning and their service dept is not so hot.

Yeah, I received my Toshiba back within ten days of dropping it off for service. However, I've heard horror stories of wait times as long as five months. Unthinkable!

wow, my toshiba monitor is making a clicking noise. I don't have a warranty. I wonder if they will kick in a freebie. I do have two toshiba laptops.
