Before I download a free app version at Apple Store, is there any hidden malware that I need to be aware about?

I know the purchased version of Torque Pro will read/display transmission temperature. It's been a few years since I purchased Torque Pro, but if I correctly recall, the purchased version of Torque Pro offers much more than the free version. It's well worth the $4.95 to purchase.

It may have changed but if you are downloading the Torque Pro app for an Apple product it will be fake...don't do it...it has been a year since I last checked but Torque Pro is for android only (or at least not for Apple products)...

Good luck with your choice

It's vehicle dependant. It will not display transmission temperature for my BMW (and that is part of the fill procedure on my car).

Also, I believe Bill is correct. Torque only supports android (unless, as he says, something has changed).

I am 99% sure that THE Torque Pro app that everyone raves about is not available on apple devices, only android. There are a few knockoffs on the Apple app store that have logos and names that look like the real thing.

If you want a good OBD app for iPhone, look at OBDFusion or the OBDLink app, which is the same thing as OBDFusion but requires an OBDLink bluetooth adapter. Honestly, these apps are more powerful than Torque Pro in my experience, but their interfaces are not quite as nice.

With Ford vehicles, the Forscan Lite app is also exceptionally awesome. There is also the Forscan software available for your PC as well which is capable of reading and writing to various modules in your vehicle.

While I have paid for the license to Torque Pro on an Android tablet, my preferred tools are EOBD Facile - OBD2 *and* inCarDoc PRO OBD2

The latter two have features that lack in TP.

You may have to enter a custom PID(?) to get trans temp. I did with my Chrysler and the app that goes with the dongle (ODBLink MX).

I've had BlueDriver for almost a year and have used it on 6 cars I take care of...I've been pleased with the results and found it worth the price of admission as I use Apple products...but...if I had android, I would have bought Torque Pro as there is a large number of people who swear by them...

I did try to use it with an older android phone a family member had but I couldn't get it to download because I could never get the phone to allow me to create and then charge the cost to an account...it was an issue with the phone and not android or Torque Pro but there it is...

Good luck with your choice...

Hello,

OP here. I didn't know know there was a Lite & Pro version. I downloaded the Pro (paid version) $4.95. I'll skip 1 Big Mac meal for this :ROFLMAO:I thought I saw it on Apple Store but actually it was on Google Play. I haven't have the time to tried it yet. Been busy for home renovation. Thanks for all the professional advises.
