Hello,

I have 5 quarts of Toro 4 cycle motor oil. It says that it is SAE5W30 detergent sh/sj with no api rating. It is only a few month old as i purchased a case for my snowblower and never used it. I was wondering if i can use this up in my 87 gmc s15 2.8 litre with over 100k on the clock. any info would be a great help.

thanks

If its sh/sj, then it has an API rating.

Usually you want to see a starburst symbol though, I believe.

Probably wouldnt be bad for a 3000 mi OCI. I wouldnt push it though.

Why not return it or save for use in the snowblower/other power equipment? If kept sealed, itll last for years.

I'd run it to 3k. SH/SJ is better oil than was used in your truck when it was new
