No media tears but they're still abysmal quality. Tiny, often sealed louvers, and ADBV tears are common. When you can get an Ultra for $8 or a Boss for $12 it should be a no brainer.
I got the new Purolator One blue can when the first came out for $5.95 a can shipped when they first came out and they are much higher efficiency than the Boss but rated for 10K rather than 20K. I've run these with no cuts, no tares for OCI's of just over 5K. My car will likely never see a 10K OCI and I don't leave filters on. My basic objective is Maximum protection at about half the cost of the oil store or Stealership.
